LeTourneau University welcomes singer/songwriter Ayiesha Woods to chapel at 10:50 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 16, in the S.E. Belcher Jr. Chapel and Performance Center, 2100 S. Mobberly Avenue. The public is invited. As a singer/songwriter, Woods hopes to convey through her music what matters most: Our relationship with God. She states we are bombarded by television commercials, radio singles and music videos competing to tell people what they “need.” Woods was discovered in Jamaica by former dcTalk member and singer/songwriter, Toby Mac. Her albums “Introducing Ayiesha Woods” and “Love Like This” have a refreshing and energetic Caribbean feel. Her sound is combined with the polished presentation of a veteran musician. In her short span as a recording artist, she has amassed a wealth of accolades, including a GRAMMY nomination and a nod for New Artist of the Year at the GMA Dove Awards.
